These are essentially my “rules” on this blog, and for Business and Bullets in general.
On platforms where I have to alter my policy, I state so below in the appropriate sections. If I don’t state an exception, assume policy is observed.
WHY do I have rules? Because this isn’t free for me, and it is for you.
I pay for this domain, I pay for hosting, and I post content (paying time, which could’ve been turned into money) so I pay for the ability to say what goes in this small piece of the internet.
My realm, My rules. Now, onto my policies.
On Advice / Recommendations
I do not give advice or recommendations. When I use words indicative of advice or recommendations, I am referencing my personal insights, opinions, and experiences. I am just using language to dress it up.
What’s the difference?
Nothing I post is specific advice or a specific recommendation to any specific individual, and that includes YOU, dear reader.
Because specific advice or a specific recommendation is called a consultation, and that’s something you pay for. I am not currently taking on any new clients or offering consultations through Business and Bullets.
If I ever do, then this part of my policy will obviously change to “I do not give advice or recommendations unless you pay me.”
Until then, take everything I post (on any and all platforms) as an expression of my own insights, opinions, and experiences and nothing more.
If you would like to comment on Business and Bullets articles, please do so.
Intelligent conversation is one of the reasons I wanted to start a blog in the first place. So much so that I disabled Disqus (the plugin I used to use for a comments system) because only people with a Disqus account could comment. Now, anyone can. However…
Here are some general guidelines on leaving Comments on Business and Bullets:
No Assaulting Other Commenters’s Character. If you have a dislike or disagreement with another person (not their stance, but them personally), take it up with them. Don’t waste my time sifting through your complaining back and forth. Use whatever medium you want, but it will not be Business and Bullets.
No Threats. This means both threats aimed at me or others. If you’re going to say something that is outright idiotic, do it elsewhere. What’s more, it shouldn’t be surprising that I will delete any threats aimed at me because you dislike something I said. Again, I pay for this website. My realm, My rules.
Cursing Is Fine…Within Reason. I’m assuming that if you’re here, you’re an adult. There are limits to this, though. If your comment is just a garbled mass of swearing that adds nothing of value, I will delete it.
Read The Entire Post BEFORE You Comment. I can tell when someone did not read a post completely. It’s one thing to miss the point, it’s another to read one thing you liked/disliked and skip straight to commenting. This shows a lack of respect for the time I spent in writing what you’re commenting on.
Absolutely No Whining. This does not mean that you should pretend something that is genuinely bad is not bad. This means you do not whine about it. Yes, we are all aware of the fact that cultural collapse has rendered many American women completely unreliable and entitled. No, this does not give you free agency to whine and complain about it in my comments section. Doing so is outright disrespectful and a waste of my time.
Captain Capitalism’s “The Reality Principle”
I greatly enjoy The Reality Principle, and Aaron Clarey’s work in general. The quoted section below is taken from his own Policy page, which he calls The Cappy Manual.
“I am concerned about reality. The reason why is that most, if not, 100% of our problems we suffer today is because we believed in lies or were just too damn lazy to go and figure out what the truth was. And when we make decisions that are not based in reality or truth, we fail.
Therefore, I don’t care about your feelings, I care about truth. I want to get to the bottom of things. Now many of you have been brought up in the past 50 years being lied to and thinking that anybody who disagrees with them is a mean person. Matter of fact, a lot of you have been programmed to knee-jerk into accusations of “ism” because it changes the topic and diverts us from uncovering the truth. But please listen to this and take this in.
You’re not hurting me calling me an “ist.” Racist, sexist, etc., whatever. You’re not hurting me. I don’t care anymore. And frankly, less and less people are caring.
Who you are hurting by not having frank, blunt and truthful discussion are the minorities in this country that have been lied to and abused by the various political forces that be.”
I couldn’t have said it better.
What I will add is that, if you object to something I say, prove me wrong. If I don’t have the right data, give it to me. Assuming you’re using a reliable source (in other words, not biased news media blogs or similar) and you’re interpreting the data correctly, I may change my stance.
People argue feelings, and I don’t have time for that. Like Joe Friday said, “All we want are the facts, ma’am“.
On The NAXALT Fallacy
Take a really, really good look at this image before you leave that whiny comment about how “So-and-So you sorta know” exists, thereby disproving a statement I’ve made (and as a result invalidating my point while validating your feelings, which is really all you value in your sad little life).
On Medical and Legal Hullabaloo
In case the first piece of policy didn’t make it clear that NOTHING I post is to be confused with specific advice to anyone in particular…
I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I AM NOT A LAWYER. WHAT’S MORE, I AM NOT YOUR DOCTOR. I AM NOT YOUR LAWYER.
FURTHER, I AM NOT YOUR CONSULTANT. YOU ARE NOT, IN ANY WAY, MY CLIENT. AS SUCH, NOTHING I SAY TO YOU SHOULD BE TAKEN AS ADVICE OF ANY SORT.
IF YOU NEED MEDICAL ADVICE, GO GET A DOCTOR. IF YOU NEED LEGAL ADVICE, GO GET A LAWYER. IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER KIND OF ADVICE, HIRE A CONSULTANT. DON’T COME TO ME.
Don’t expect me to give you things for free that people usually have to pay for. You already get free content, which is infotainment (information used as entertainment).
Broken Links, Deleted Posts, Deleted Videos Embedded in Posts
I will handle these in reverse order.
I have had 400+ videos uploaded to YouTube. Many of them, say between 200 and 250, were recorded when I had low testosterone. Simply put, I couldn’t stand them. So I deleted them.
If you bring it to my attention, I will not drop everything to redo the video. But I do appreciate you bringing it to my attention so I can remove that video from that post. If I redo the video, I will replace it in said post. That said, you’re not paying me (and again, I’m not taking clients) so don’t expect anything.
Deleted posts are essentially the same thing. When you have low testosterone, you are living with a permanent case of brain fog. Communication suffers. I am constantly going back to edit old posts as a result, because they didn’t convey my meaning at all.
If a post was so horrible it wasn’t salvageable, I just outright delete it and be done with it. I have to balance the cost of my time against the importance of the concept shared. Even then, sometimes it is better to start over from scratch than try to save a completely unintelligible post.
Regarding broken links (and deleted videos), simply leave a comment informing me the link is broken. I will repair it as time allows
That’s All, Folks
That’s about the gist of it. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…
